Wearable Burnt Orange Fall FOTD

Hi y'all, if you've been a long time blog reader, you know how much I LOVE this pigment (previous blog post | previous tutorial). I know it's been close to 7 years that I've had it but it still is going strong. I recently fell back in love with this rich, warm burnt orange shade. Unfortunately it was limited edition but I'm sure there are dupes out there.

ABH Brow Powder Duo in Dark Brown

As much as I love looking at gorgeous makeup artistry on IG and online, it's not super practical in my everyday life. Here's my take on fall makeup using burnt orange and other warm shades.

I started by applying a wash of color (MAC Brule) all over from lashline to brow. I swept ABH's Morocco all over in my crease then applied the burnt orange pigment to my lid and used MAC Fix+ to wet it before applying. Since Off the Radar was limited edition, another burnt orange option would be MAC Rule, although it doesn't have the shimmery quality.

I love the contrast of the warm, reddish tone in the crease against the burnt orange lid. Doesn't it just conjure thoughts of warm cozy blankets and fall leaves? It doesn't really feel like fall except for when the sun is down in Texas.... sigh.

I added the teeny tiniest line of liner then topped the look off with with some wispy like falsies. These falsies I got at a local beauty supply store but regular or glamour wispies would work out just fine too.

To balance out the lower lashline, I applied a dark brown liner to my waterline then smudged it with a tan shade (ABH Bengal). To give just a touch of smoke without it being too much, I added a dark brown shadow (ABH Fudge) to the outer 1/3rd of my lower lashline. Lastly, I popped a shimmery cream shade (MAC Ricepaper) to my inner corners to bring in more light.

My face and brows are pretty much the same as my everyday makeup routine except I'm using the MAC Waterweight Foundation (which I am really liking) & returned the Champagne Pop highlighter to get the MAC Soft & Gentle MSF.

For lips, I stuck with a brownish-red lippie which is one of my ALL TIME favorite shades for fall. I'm wearing MAC Paramount and it is glorious.

I hope this post inspires y'all to try out some fall looks, to make looks your own whether your go for an intense, in your face look or go for a more wearable one. Fall and cool weather makes me want to hibernate and play with makeup... so have fun :)
